We checked out the collection and were surprised at the range and quality of the works on show - everything from 13 century Italian to a modern German photographer. Our favourites were from the medieval, Victorian and Pre-Raphelite periods. Friendly and helpful staff and excellent tea and cakes at the cafe. The great thing about this place is that It is quite compact so that you don't need to walk around all over the place to get a good feeling about the place. There are only two levels which... Another museum to visit with free entry. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. They have a number of collections spanning the medieval period to modern art. When I was there there was a collection of photographs by Paul Trevor of 1975 Liverpool. The bleak landscape, the poverty, the unemployment. Great. There is a craft and design gallery, a sculpture gallery and a children's gallery. There is a lovely little coffee shop set among some great artwork.... Read more...
