Brilliant, Quintessenially British Luxury Emporium !

Visited a few weeks ago on a business trip- an emporium on 5 floors (incl basement).Basement stocks charcuterie delicacies -meats , cheeses, etc, fine wines and champagne , and every imaginable suchluxury.
Ground floor has a waiter service restaurant,and there are stocks own branded preserves (hundreds of them -some unusual -fancy Rose Petal preserveon your toast,not a cheap store though -that cost about £12-but a lot of preserves are around £6), also chocolates, lovely selections (hundreds ) of teas and coffees (like a large version of Dublin's bewley's in this regards).Huge selection f hampers too , for every occasion.
All sorts of luxury things upstairs -a floor for men( and also one for women), stocking clothes, fragrances, shaving kits , games, ornaments for the study (how about a hanging wooden model airplane hanging from the ceiling -if you have a couple of hundred pounds to spare!)
Staff ae lovely-so , so courteous and well groomed (men wear frockcoats, just like they did whenit opened ffirst in the 18th century). The only negative on my visit (well,the store is a tourist attraction too ) was to be nearly bowled over by a large group of Oriental tourists clicking cameras, rudely pushing and shoving their way around the ground floor,with absolutely no regard for anybody else).
Nigel would recommend. Nigel would use again.
